A large shiny floral bead with Mediterranean vibe, inspired by the Acanthus mollis plant and its representation in world culture. The ancient Greeks believed that acanthus grew on the graves of heroes. Acanthus leaves were the aesthetic basis for capitals in the Corinthian order of architecture. In medieval art, it was a symbol of life, dynamics, growth and awareness of sin, pain and compassion.
This bead is one-sided, made on a flat base with a hole going through it, top to bottom. Therefore, it is perfectly fit for brooches, pendants, or as an element of a bracelet or necklace.
